Jane Turner began her riding career when she was six at Carriage Hill Farms in South Florida, a Hunter/Jumper barn that is still going strong today.  She competed in Hunter/Jumper shows as a junior, starting in the Short Stirrup Division, all the way to the Medals and Junior Hunter Division.  These wonderful years provided an unbeatable foundation for a lifetime of riding.  She formed the closest friendships of her life and has the fondest memories of those years.  It has been Jane’s lifelong dream to create this kind of environment for her own students.

During College, Jane began teaching and riding professionally in the Northern Virginia area.  She went back to her roots and read the definitive pieces of literature written by the greats of our sport, including George Morris, Paul Cronin, Gordon Wright, and so many more.  She still keeps her favorite books by her bedside and sits up reading while she plans lessons for the week.  She also gained invaluable knowledge from the trainers and horse people she was fortunate enough to work for over the years.

Jane opened the doors of Willowin Farms in 2010.  Since then, Willowin Farms has grown from a one pony operation with a handful of beginners to a full service Equestrian Center with a sturdy herd of school ponies/horses and an amazing team of riders.  Jane has found immense joy in teaching riders of all ages.  She also enjoys providing the best life possible to the horses and ponies she has the good fortune to care for.
