Riding Lessons

Jane Turner specializes in teaching English riding in theHunter Seat Equitation tradition.  Riders learn correct riding

position from their very first lesson.
Jane believes this is the key to producing safe, effective riders.   Jane strives to create a fun and positive  learning environment for students of all ages.

Riding Lessons are available on our carefully selected, well trained school horses and ponies, or on your own horse/pony.   Our horses and ponies receive the best possible care.  We only use the highest quality tack and equipment to ensure the comfort and safety of horse and rider

New riders begin in private, half hour lessons until they can control their horse/pony independently.  They are then able to join a one hour small group lesson.  Groups are based on rider’s age and ability.  One hour private lessons are also available.

All lessons will be taught by head trainer Jane Colley or one of her assistant trainers. All training rides will be performed by Jane or one of her assistant trainers. Jane oversees the planning of lessons and training rides she is not personally leading.
If you would like one of our young riders to ride a pony/horse for you, they will always be supervised by a trainer and you will be charged a standard lesson rate.

From time to time, we are lucky to be able to ride off the property into some of Loudoun County’s most beautiful hunt country. All trail rides are led by one of our trainers and are counted as a one hour lesson. Trail rides are only available to current students who are considered advanced enough for trail riding by Jane. If you wish to go on a longer trail ride with one of our trainers, rates can be discussed!
